Samsung Warranty Repair Information
This is a two-step process:
- Valid Warranty Coverage (12 months):
In order for your Samsung device to be accepted for warranty eligibility you must show evidence that you have purchased your device within the last 12 months from a carrier or an authorized retailer in Canada. To do this, we will:
- Validate your device serial # in Samsung's database. If your device is shown to have been manufactured within the prior 12 months, we will proceed with the diagnostics.
- If your device was manufactured more than 12 months prior, you MUST produce the original purchase receipt. We would strongly suggest you bring in your proof of purchase receipt to ensure we can start working on your device warranty immediately.
- Phone Damage Diagnostics:
We will proceed to complete a diagnostics upon satisfactorily establishing that your device has a valid warranty coverage (two requirements above).
Our diagnostics will seek to establish that your device has not been experienced the following situations:
- Physical damage
- Liquid exposure
- Has been rooted (what does rooted mean?)
- A failure that is a result of misuse, abuse or accident
There is no warranty coverage if your device has been damaged due to the above conditions. An out-of-warranty repair estimate will be provided for your approval.
- If you approve we will proceed with the repair and call you upon completion.
- If you choose not to proceed with the repair, then we will close up the device and return it to you. A $40 diagnostic fee will be charged for all our efforts.
+Warrany Repair Process
If our diagnostics determine that your device has not suffered physical, liquid or software damages, it becomes eligible for warranty repair, and depending on the repairs required, we will either :
- Complete the repairs within 2 to 4 hours and call you to come pick up your repaired device, or
- In case of serious and more fundamental problems and issues, we forward your device to the Samsung specialist for repair and remediation. These issues typically require major repairs for example, logic board replacement, fundamental audio and video problems, etc. These repairs can take from 5 to 10 business days (or 1 to 2 weeks), typically.
- It is still possible, notwithstanding our finding in 2 above (no physical, liquid or software issues), that the specialist might uncover physical, liquid or software issues that escaped our diagnostics. In this situation, you will be charged a $40 diagnostics fee and the device will be returned to you unrepaired.
SAMSUNG WARRANTY WILL COVER THE REPAIRS TO THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS, IF NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE IS FOUND:
SAMSUNG WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS OF THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS:
- Damaged touchscreen glass
- Any other physical damage or liquid damage
Important: In-warranty repairs can take from a few hours to 3 weeks!
Repairs are typically completed within:
- 4 hours - if we have the parts in stock.
- 2 business days - if we need to order the parts from Samsung.
- Up to 3 weeks - if the device has experienced a main logic board or some other serious failure and needs to be sent to a Samsung-authorized specialist for a main-board solution.
If we find for any reason that the problem is not eligible for repair under warranty we will call you and provide a repair estimate.
- If you accept our estimate we will complete the repair and you pay the repair charge less the diagnostic fee (as stated above)
- If you decline the estimate we will re-assemble your device for you to come and pick up and charge you $40 for diagnostics.
Important: Save your data before you bring your device to us!
- Data - including files, photos, videos, music, contacts, apps, & personal settings may be deleted during the course of warranty diagnosis and repair services.
Backup your device - it is likely your device will be returned to you with factory default settings and NO DATA.
If you have difficulty or do not know how to backup and restore your data, we are here to help.... For $29.95, we will backup and restore your data before you come in to pick up your phone.
E-mails and contact information backup requires us to have your password. For ex, if you have a Gmail or a Yahoo account, we need these passwords before your data can be backed up and restored.
The warranty is invalidated/voided if unauthorized persons carry out any alterations and/or repairs to a device under warranty.
The warranty period commences upon the date of purchase by the original purchaser and continues to be in effect for the period of time specified in your purchase agreement and/or device documentation after the original purchase date.
Valid warranty coverage continues to be in effect for the original specified term after being serviced by an Authorized Repair Centre (like The TechKnow Space).
The warranty covers manufacturing defects only.
Please note that the warranty does not include consumable items such as batteries, bulbs, and ink cartridges.

The TechKnow Space provides in-warranty service for Samsung Phones and Samsung Tablets, and Samsung Gear Smart Watches.
We also provide out of warranty service for Samsung phones, tablets, smart watches and laptops.
SAMSUNG products carry a full warranty for the period specified. Some SAMSUNG products carry different warranty periods due to the nature of the product's design, manufacture or expected use, the warranty applies from the date of purchase by the first customer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - FOR WHICH WARRANTY SUPPORT IS NOT AVAILABLE

Common Support Requests - Warranty Unavailable
- The call centre told me I can buy a new phone from you
We do not sell Phones, Tablets, or Computers
- My device is under warranty - I want it replaced, not repaired
We offer Authorized warranty repair services - we do not have replacement devices
- I bought my phone in Japan, now my speaker is having a problem
We cannot provide warranty support for phones purchased outside of Canada - you will need to seek warranty coverage in the country of purchase
- I bought my Samsung device from Kijiji, Ebay, Amazon, a flea market, my friend etc
There is only warranty on devices purchased from an authorized dealer
- Samsung told me to go to TechKnow Space to get a Device Replacement
We are authorized to perform warranty repairs to covered Samsung devices

Bizarre Support Requests - Warranty Unavailable
- Samsung asked me to call you and request a shipping label so I can ship my S5 to their Heartland repair centre.
We don't send Samsung shipping labels to customers.
- I'm having a problem connecting my Samsung phone to my home WiFi - but it works on other networks
Contact your service provider, or Google for help - chances are others have had the same difficulty and someone has found and shared a solution
- I rooted my phone and now I'm having problems
Rooting your phone automatically voids your Samsung Warranty
- I can't find the Flashlight Switch/Some Other Feature on my device. I called Samsung and they told me TechKnow Space will explain how to use it
