Frequently Asked Questions About Roomba Repair

 1. Can my Roomba be repaired?

Although Roomba is a really cool smart vacuum robot, it is basically a digital device similar to a smartphone or a tablet. It requires advanced repair skills and our expert technicians at Techknowspace can make your Roomba dance to your tunes again.

2. How much does it cost to fix my Roomba?

The cost of fixing your Roomba robot may vary depending on the problem. Typically our repair prices for Roomba start at $89 and can go up based on the complexity of the repair.

3. How long does it take to fix a Roomba device?

As we have been in the business of repairing digital devices for more than 16 years, we have strong relationships with top-quality suppliers from far and wide. We carry most Roomba parts in stock which will help us finish repairs in a day or two.

4. Does Roomba have a lifetime warranty?

No. All Roomba robots come with a one-year limited warranty for parts only (excluding the battery). If you purchased a refurbished Roomba vacuum robot from iRobot, it comes with a 90-day limited warranty for parts only.

5. How long do Roomba vacuums last?

With proper maintenance, regular cleaning, and component replacements - your Roomba can typically last between 4 to 6 years. High-end Roombas can last even longer up to 8 years.

6. Are Roomba robots worth repairing?

If the cost of the repair is 40% or less than the cost of buying a new one, it is better to repair. This is the general rule of thumb and it applies to Roomba robots as well. With good maintenance and timely component replacements, you can get more bang for your buck with your good old Roomba.

7. Can I do a DIY Repair on my Roomba?

While it is easier to disassemble any digital product, assembling it back in the right way can be a challenge. You should use Goggles and a dust mask to protect yourself before attempting to start the repair.

Like most other digital devices, Roomba has multiple small components that are connected to the motherboard. The motherboard in itself has hundreds of integrated chips. Slight damage to these during your DIY repair can make them really expensive to fix.

It is best to leave it to the professionals who are experienced in repairing thousands of home vacuum robots just like yours to save your time and do it absolutely right.

8. How do you know if your Roomba needs a new battery?

If you notice one or two of the below factors, your Roomba needs a new battery

  1. The battery doesn’t hold its charge
  2. Your Roomba’s run times are getting shorter
  3. Low performance even after cleaning the robot
  4. The power light on your Roomba doesn’t turn on
