1. The Standard Manufacturer Warranty: offers one year coverage from the date of purchase, and provides protection for primarily these situations:

a. Network and cellular signaling problems
b. Main logic-board related failures.

Problems with this warranty option:

• Our 10 years of repair experience reveals less than 5% of the repairs are network or logic board related. Most of the repairs are not covered under Manufacturer Warranty and have to be paid for. 

• Repairs under this option can take from 2 weeks to 8 weeks.

2. Extended Manufacturer Warranty:  is like the Standard Manufacturer Warranty, but extends coverage for additional years beyond the first. This warranty is not free and needs to be purchased. The protection extends to the same issues and problems covered by the Standard Manufacturer Warranty.

Problems with this warranty option: same as with the Manufacturer Warranty option.

3. Accidental Warranty: provides protection against accidents like drops and dings, or damage due to liquids. The price to purchase this protection is pretty steep. These warranties typically only allow one accidental damage claim over the lifetime of the warranty.

Problems with this warranty option: 

• Our 10 years of repair experience reveals about 95% of repairs are a result of accidental damage or liquid-related problems, and would therefore be covered by this warranty, if you were willing to pay the price. 

• Repairs under this option can take from 2 weeks to 8 weeks. 

• Repairs are hugely expensive costing you an average of $200 to $300 per repair incident including monthly fees and deductibles. 

Our 10 years of experience reveals that most device owners would rather pay The TechKnow Space to repair their devices within one hour, than wait 2 to 8 weeks to get their “free repair solutions under the above warrantys

Anecdotally, we have an Apple store across from our Square One location. We have many Apple customers come to us rather than use Apple’s free warranty services for the simple reasons: 

  1. They find waiting for 2 to 10 days to get an appointment with the Genius Bar, painful. 
  2. The 2 to 6 hours of in-store wait at the Apple store makes this option unpalatable.
